Goods and Services Tax Appellate Tribunal, Jammu & Kashmir
Position: Technical Member (State/UT) for the UT of J&K
The Goods and Services Tax Appellate Tribunal (GSTAT) is seeking to fill the position of Technical Member (State/UT) for the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir. This tribunal is established under the Central Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017 (CGST Act) to hear appeals arising from orders and decisions of appellate and revisional authorities.
Overview
One bench of GSTAT has been constituted in the UT of J&K as per S.O. No 4073(E) dated 14.09.2023. The UT Government will select one Technical Member (State/UT) through a Search-cum-Selection Committee established under clause (a) of sub-section (4) of section 110 of the CGST Act.
Qualifications and Eligibility Conditions
The qualifications, eligibility, salary, and other terms and conditions for the appointment are governed by the CGST Act and the GSTAT Rules, 2023. These details are summarized in Annexure III.
Selection Procedure
The Central Government will appoint the Technical Member (State) based on the recommendations of a Search-Cum-Selection Committee. The selection process involves:
- Scrutiny of applications for suitability based on qualifications and relevant experience.
- Possible personal interaction for shortlisted candidates.
- Recommendation of a panel of two names to the Central Government for the final appointment.
